Terms and Conditions

1. Scope of services

  • Aletheia Psychology provides psychologist-led coaching and psychoeducational services.

  • Services are aimed at personal development, insight, and skill-building, not at diagnosing or treating mental disorders.

  • The services provided do not constitute medical, psychiatric or psychological treatment, and do not replace care provided by a GP, psychiatrist, or other healthcare professional.

  • No diagnoses are made and no medical advice is given.

2. No emergency service

Aletheia does not provide emergency, crises or acute mental health support.
In case of emergency or immediate risk to yourself or others, clients aree instructed to contact:

  • their general practitioner (GP)

  • local emergency services, or

  • an appropriate crisis support service

3. Booking & payment

  • Sessions are booked online or by mutual agreement

  • Payment is required in advance, unless otherwise agreed in writing

  • Prices are displayed in euros (EUR)

  • VAT applicability: Vat is applied in accordance with Dutch tax law and the nature of the service provided.

  • Invoices are provided electronically

4. Cancellation policy and no-show policy

  • Appointments may be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance excluding weekends and public holidays.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before thee scheduled session, or failure to attend without notice (no-show), may be charged in full

  • This policy applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, unless otherwise agreed in exceptional circumstances.

5. Confidentiality

  • All sessions are treated as confidential.

  • Confidentiality is maintained within the limits of Dutch law, including but not limited to situation involving:

    • Serious risk or harm to the client or others,

    • Legal obligation or court orders

  • Any personal data shared during sessions is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

6. Responsibility

  • Clients remain fully responsible for their own decisions, actions and outcomes resulting from the coaching process.

  • Coaching is a collaborative process that requires active participation and honesty from the client.

  • Aletheia Psychology does not guarantee specific outcomes or results.

  • Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information relevant to the coaching process.

7. Intellectual property

  • All content on this website, including texts, materials, exercises, worksheets, and digital resources, is intellectual property of Aletheia Psychology unless stated otherwise.

  • Materials provided during sessions are for personal use only and may not be copied, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission.

8. Complaints & disputes

  • If a client has a complaint, they are encouraged to first discuss this directly with Aletheia Psychology by email.

  • Aletheia Psychology aims to respond to complaints within a reasonable timeframe and to resolve them in mutual consultation.

  • As Aletheia Psychology operates as a coaching and psychoeducational practice, the Dutch Wkkgz (Quality, Complaints and Distupes in Healtcare Act) does not apply.

  • If a complaint cannot be resolved mutually, parties may seek mediation or submit the dispute to a competent Dutch court.

9. Limitations of liability

  • Altetheia Psychology is not liable for direct or indirect damage resulting from the use of its services, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

  • Liability is limited to the amount paid by the client for the service to which the liability relates, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

10. Applicable law & jurisdiction

  • These terms are governed by Dutch law.

  • Any disputes arising from these terms or the services provided shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
