About me

I’m Danae. I was born and raised in South Africa and moved to the Netherlands later in life. This experience really deepened my understanding of transition, belonging and how people adapt to new contexts. Alongside my professional role, I’m a partner and mother. These roles continue to shape how I think about relationships, responsibility, and personal change.

I’m drawn to this work because I’m interested in how people make sense of their experiences and how this shapes reality. I value conversations that allow for reflection, nuance and choice.

The story behind Altheia

Aletheia is a Greek word meaning truth. ‘Truth’ is not fixed or imposed, but rather something that is gradually revealed. It requires your presence and attention to uncover the underlying assumptions and habits that have developed over time.

This idea resonates deeply with both my personal and professional journey. Through my own changes in contexts and roles, I’ve experienced how easily one can lose touch with the present while adapting to what life asks of us. In my work, I create space to pause, reflect and uncover what feels true and meaningful for the person in front of me.

Aletheia reflects the way I approach psychological coaching: not a process of fixing or redefining someone, but rather one of understanding, clarity and choice that reveals new insights.

My mission

My mission is to create a grounded space for thoughtful exploration and understanding that becomes the basis for meaningful change. I aim to offer a way of working together that is attentive, respectful and psychologically informed.

I work with individuals, couples and parents who want to develop:

  • healthier and more balanced relationships

  • clearer boundaries, both personally and professionally

  • greater emotional awareness and regulation

  • a more stable and authentic connection with themselves

  • a sense of belonging within themselves and in relationship with others

This work is not long-term therapy.

It is psychologist-led coaching that is reflective, relational, and evidence-informed. I help people move forward with greater clarity, agency and intention.

"Awareness creates space for choice, even when change is not straightforward."
